Transformation through Christian Education

Nevaeh began school at Mid Vermont Christian School in kindergarten and her brother 5 years later. Each year it became harder and harder for her family to fund her Christian education. Her grandparents helped as they could, but this summer the tuition was more than her parent’s budget could sustain. “This year we knew we couldn’t afford to have both our kids go to MVCS. We decided our daughter would stay at the school as her Christian and biblical foundation was super important to us and the school does an incredible job with this, besides other education. We talked to Mrs. Fogg who suggested we write a letter to the Tuition Committee and ask for more scholarship money so both kids could go. I told her I feel bad asking when they have already given us financial aid all these years and I feel like I ask every single year and I don’t want to have to do that. Mrs. Fogg told us to pray and ask, as Jesus told us to in Matthew 7:7-8.” – James Johnston

Did you know your gifts go directly to helping students attend MVCS who otherwise would not be able to? We continue to see lives changed through Christian Education. The average cost for one High School student to have an opportunity for a Christian education is about $10,000. Every gift – every student counts. We consider it a great privilege to come alongside parents and families to educate their children in Christ.

You have already made a difference in Nevaeh and her brother’s life and the lives of families just like hers by supporting our scholarship program so many can benefit from a Christian education. Students who are brought up in the wisdom and admonition of the Lord go on to positively impact the world for Christ. Nevaeh is thriving at MVCS; she is on the honor roll, basketball team, and an encouragement to others. In addition, we simply need to look around the Upper Valley and around the globe for those who have already been Educated for Impact through MVCS. Many of those are your children or children you know.

As you may know this last year has been filled with many changes. Both Bob Bracy and Deb Hellickson made some hard life changes after decades of faithful service to MVCS. We were pleased to announce Vicky Fogg as the new head of school. She is doing terrific in her new role! We hired several new teachers and received special funding for a part-time marketing position. The new school year was launched with a terrific start with new enthusiasm and high engagement from students and parents. This has led to the growth in the spiritual climate of the school, praise the Lord.

Through efficiencies and consolidation, we have reduced almost $100,000 in expenses from our prior year budget. However, this still leaves us with a gap of $150,000 to cover tuition for students for this school year. To help cover the tuition gap for students would you consider giving $50, $250 or even $1,000. God may have given you the ability to give $5000 or more - whatever you are able to give we are humbly appreciative of your generosity and partnership for Christian education. Every donation helps.

Please pray with us to impact students’ hearts, grow enrollment and move toward long-term financial sustainability. We count it such a privilege to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you to build a solid biblical foundation and Christian worldview in educating children at MVCS. Will you please join us in fervent prayer for the school? We look forward to sharing what the Lord has done in our midst.

Kind Regards,
