Beyond the classroom with Christian Education
Mid Vermont Christian School is "flexing our faith" in the new COVID world of education. Our teachers and staff to work to provide an education of excellence whether a student is at school or doing school from home. Our students continued to strive to do their best for the Lord, even amid the trial of face masks and social distancing, or for some, being at home for school.
Listen to one parent share how her daughter has grown:
Cecily loves being with friends. She thrives on laughter and companionship. While we have homeschooled our other children, we found that our relationship with our daughter was better when she attended school and was able to be around a variety of personalities.
As she got older, however, we ran into conflicts with peers and with what she was learning in the classrooms. She had her faith openly ridiculed and subtly undermined in the public school. She was beginning to take on the attitudes of the classmates she was with in school. She saw disrespect for teachers and for parents, which at first bothered her but then became her attitude as well.
We knew we needed a change for her.
We looked at MVCS as a possible solution to some of the issues we were facing. We knew many of the faculty and staff personally and, in fact, some had already been our children’s teachers at church. We knew they would support us in our efforts to disciple our daughter, but the cost of tuition felt insurmountable. We discovered we qualified for some financial aid, but it still felt like a lot.
We prayed, and later that day received an email letting us know that every family was getting even more financial assistance. It was an immediate answer to our prayer.
Our daughter has been doing well at her new school. She has told us how much she appreciates the respect students show for teachers in class and how her faith is supported. She has had a more respectful attitude toward us and has been more thoughtful about spiritual things. Every day she is happy to go to school and is always looking forward to her classes and friendships.
We are thankful for this opportunity and praise God for the way He has used MVCS to enrich our daughter’s life.
